Congratulations to Udelle Hopson who was awarded the top grade - grade 9 - in every GCSE subject she studied! Udelle is continuing her studies in our Sixth Form where she has embarked on a four A level programme in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Spanish.
Gaining all grade 9s for every GCSE is an exceptional achievement; it shows real dedication and obviously a broad academic prowess. These grades lead to great academic chances and success in the sixth form and at university.
In 2023 only the top 0.18% of students nationally achieved straight 9s in all of their GCSEs, so Udelle can approach her next stage of education with real confidence and self-belief.
Udelle said ‘Bishop Stopford is an incredible institution that fosters an enabling environment, encouraging students to achieve their full potential in academics, athletics, music, and beyond. Throughout my five years at school, I received consistent support and encouragement from my teachers to try new things. Programmes such as the Brilliant Scholars' programme, various sports clubs, the Maths Challenge, and the Royal Society of Chemistry competition were some of the key opportunities I was encouraged to explore. A little progress each day adds up to big results. '
Well done Udelle!
