Coding Club Challenge

Nineteen students from our Coding club took part in the Computational Thinking Challenge hosted by the University of Oxford. On 14th November, students were given forty online thinking challenges to complete within 40 minutes ranging from simple to hard. The students took on the challenge extremely well and i am pleased to announce the results for each group:

Both the Junior and Intermediate teams scored higher than the average score for the country.

The following students have also been invited to take part in the 2019 TCS Oxford Computing Challenge which will take place in March 2019.

The senior team's results placed them amongst the best in the country and they have been invited to the second stage of the challenge held by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford. This day will include academic lectures, exploring Herford College and the second part of the Bebras Challenge. This is an excellent opportunity.

This was our first year taking part in the challenge and the results have been amazing.

Music and Drama Success

Oliver Ross 8Y recently took part in the Leicester Festival of Music and Drama. He was placed first, winning a trophy in the Songs from the Shows category and second in both his own choice song and monologue.
