Sporting Accomplishments

Swimming Success

We are delighted to hear that Harvey Freeman 10S, qualified for six events at the British Swimming Championships. He reached the finals in each one.

He achieved Bronze for his 100m breaststroke, Silver for the 200m breaststroke and Gold in the 200m individual medley, making him British Champion for this event.

Well done Harvey on being number 1 in the country.

During the summer holidays, Callum Doak 11E, took part in the Worlds Gliding Club Two Seater Competition as a P2 (co-pilot).

The 34 gliders were set tasks on a daily basis which involved racing to set geographical check points. They were scored on distance, speed and check points reached. Callum's role as P2 was to navigate, ensure awareness of all other gliders flying in close proximity, and to take the controls from P1 if required. Flights were 4 to 5 hours in duration which were both exhausting and exhilarating.

Callum and his co-pilot worked really closely as a team and were delighted to win 1st place in the competition.
