Horsing Around

Joshua Boughton (7S) and Evie Boughton (7P) are both very keen horse riders. They recently applied for the National Youth Training Scheme run by The Pony Racing Authority for aspiring jockeys. After completing an application and writing a personal statement, they were both invited to attend an assessment held at one of only four centres in the country.

We are delighted that they have both secured fully funded places on the course, where they will begin training to become young jockeys. They will also gain a valuable insight into the horse racing industry, learning about the different roles and skills needed. This a fantastic opportunity as only 40 children in the country have been accepted on this scheme in the past three years.

Well done to you both.
