Pastoral support is provided to all sixth form students with a view to overseeing student well-being and to triage students to both internal and external support services.
We have a thorough and detailed guidance programme delivered through our tutorial sessions, that leads students through whatever route is best for them as individuals. Guidance also takes place during weekly assemblies and Enrichment Conferences throughout the academic year.
Although we do not formally arrange external visits, due to timing constraints, students are encouraged to attend UCAS Conventions, Open Days and Careers Conventions to gain as much knowledge and understanding of the options available to them Post 18.
Students are encouraged to organise their own work experience and work shadowing to find out about possible vocations. This is essential for some of the more popular courses such as Medicine, Veterinary, Science and Teaching.
Bishop Stopford Alumni
Bishop Stopford school has a wealth of experience and knowledge to offer students in the form of our Alumni. Students are encouraged to speak with former BSS students who can offer practical advice on specific careers and subject areas. Please see our Alumni page for further details.
