The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a non-competitive voluntary programme of activities for young people aged between 14 and 24. There are three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Within each level there are four sections which have to be completed: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. In addition, students registered for the Gold Award have to attend a Residential.

The cost for registering is detailed in the table below;

Award Registration Fee Amount Paid to DofE Charity
Bronze £30 £17
Silver £30 £17
Gold £40 £24

At present, expeditions are run each year between April and October.  Gold Award students must make arrangements independently with an approved DofE expedition group (AAP) and Residential organisation.  Bronze & Silver Award Expeditions will be run by BXM expeditions, a DofE approved activity provider in conjunction with Bishop Stopford School.  To be eligible for the Bronze & Silver Expeditions, students should aim to be working towards and completing their three tasks - Physical, Skills & Volunteering.

The DofE website www.dofe.org has a wealth of valuable information and is really worth looking at.  New participants plus those already registered for Awards can download a range of tools and documents to support them in their tasks, expedition and residential planning.

Upon registration, all participants will be given a 'Welcome Pack' and their own 'edofe' account onto which they will record their Award Programme and upload Assessor’s Reports, evidence and photographs.  Please look on the DofE website for lots of help and tips on using 'edofe'.

Please see the downloads on this left of this page for key dates of the programme, registration forms and further information. Please use the arrows to scroll along accordingly.
