Youth in Aviation at the House of Lords

Callum Doak (10E) and Ewan Doak (7P) as part of Spitfire Explorer Scout Unit, were delighted to receive an invitation to a reception held by Rt Hon Baroness Garden of Frognal for her Youth in Aviation event at the House of Lords.

The boys enjoyed some inspirational speeches from young adults working in the aviation world; a lady engineer from British Airways, a gentlemen with Cerebal Palsy who flies with Aerobility and an ATC cadet working within the RAF. They were also addressed by Grant Schapps MP who pointed out changes that need to be made to ensure local airfields survive and training costs for future pilots are reduced.

Callum and Ewan then had the opportunity to visit stands and meet representatives from aviation companies and providers which included Boeing, The Air League and the Light Aviation Association as well as trying out some STEM activities.
