The Sky's the Limit!

On Friday 26th October, Air Cadet Flight Sergeant Harry Thomas (Year 13), returned home having spent the last two weeks on a prestigious flying scholarship with Tayside Aviation in Dundee. The scholarship, which is only awarded to a few each year, enabled Harry to undertake twelve hours of flight training and culminated in him making a solo flight on the last day in a Piper Warrior aircraft.

Flight Sergeant Thomas said, "The flying scholarship was a fantastic experience and I am truly grateful to the Air Cadet organisation for selecting me to attend. I am already a solo glider pilot, and flying powered aircraft at Tayside Aviation has added another string to my bow. It has always been my intention to join the RAF as an officer pilot, and this scholarship has undoubtedly helped me on the way. The hours flown at Tayside count towards a full private pilots licence and I am now seeking additional sponsorship to allow me to finish the licence."
