Corona Virus Latest Update

Following the Covid-19 restrictions, the school remains closed for the foreseeable future except for those students already identified as vulnerable or children of key workers.

Following the prime ministerial statement on 10th May, there have been a number of questions about potential school re-opening to groups of students in Years 10 and 12. As there isn’t absolute clarity at the moment, we are making sure we are keeping up to date daily with briefings from the Department for Education and other national sources. Any and all decisions will be informed by the scientific evidence, and we will not move ahead of national guidance to schools on safety in our planning.

Please see a useful parents' guide to the Coronavirus and Coping with School Closure. There is also a useful article about how parents can support learning at home on the ParentKind website.

Many of our students who are working at home have also produced some very impressive work. Grace Maud in Year 9 has written this excellent essay for RE. Year 7 students Ella Clark and Ruby Peartree have been singing in Christ alone during lockdown.

All of our staff are working from home, apart from two who are acting as carers. They cannot respond to telephone messages or visitors to site.

If you need to contact school, please refer to the Contacts page on our website for the email address of the most appropriate person. Thank you for your forbearance. Everyone’s safety is our priority.

Students who need help to logon to Firefly from home should download the following guide.

For those students who were to undertake A Levels and GCSEs, the government has announced further details (update on 3rd April 2020) of how grades will be awarded this summer.

The Department for Education Coronavirus Helpline is available to answer any questions you have about COVID-19 relating to education and children’s social care. Staff, parents and young people can contact this helpline as follows:
Phone: 0800 046 8687 Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday), 10am to 4pm (Saturday to Sunday)

We will update this page daily and will use email and InTouch for more substantial messages for parents and students.
