Core Values in Action Awards

Jack Maltby-Smith (7S) has raised more than £1,500 having been inspired by Marcus Rashford's free school meals campaign.

Jack plays for Northampton Town's academy and said he "couldn't believe some children go to bed without any food". He had asked friends and family to sponsor him for each goal he scored, but word spread and Rashford himself tweeted about it.

Jack was then filmed by BBC’s Look East and has received a Headteacher’s Core Values in Action Award. Watch the BBC video https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-england-northamptonshire-54793342.

Congratulations also to Tom Empey (8C) who has also received a Core Values in Action Award for his work with Northamptonshire’s Litter Heroes during lockdown.

Tom organised a litter pick in his own village and the surrounding area, including carrying out a risk assessment and liaising with the county council and the parish council to ensure it was conducted well. He was given a reward for doing this.

We are delighted that Tom has made such an impact in the community.
