Annual Rotary Technology Tournament

A group of 12 students travelled to Weston Favell School in Northampton to take part in the annual Rotary Club Technology Tournament.  The event is organised by Nene Valley Rotary Club and invites entries from schools across the region. The competition is an unseen challenge which necessitates the teams of 4 to design and build a product to complete a real world task in a matter of a few hours.  This year the challenge was to produce a device to clear debris from a pipeline which proved to be a difficult challenge for many.  As the teams started, the day expectations were very high and continued through to the final judging.  In the end we came away with a 1st place for our Year 8 team and 2nd place for the Year 12 team.  Unfortunately, the Year 10 team narrowly missed out on a place despite a very successful morning session.
