A Scilly Report

Our 'Scilly Season' began its adventures on Thursday 7th June with Canterbury and Gloucester heading off for the annual Year 8 camping trip.

After a calm crossing and a lunch of Cornish pasties, we explored the island of St Mary's which was to be our base for the week. Our daily routine included boat trips to the islands of Bryer, St Agnes, Tresco and St Martin's. Particular highlights included:

  • Locally made ice cream in St Agnes
  • The beautiful botanical gardens in Tresco
  • A very rocky boat ride to St Martin's where we saw seals and puffins
  • Amazing weather
  • Sandy white beaches with crystal blue seas
  • Catching 24 fish and then preparing and eating some back at camp
  • The fantastic Scillies Got Talent hosted by Ant & Dec (aka sixth former Ed & Harry!).

The trip provided a wonderful opportunity for staff and students to bond together, whilst offering memories which will be everlasting.
