At Bishop Stopford, Humanities is a large and high performing Faculty comprising of History, Geography, Religious Education, Leisure and Tourism and Travel and Tourism. Staff work collaboratively to develop innovative practice in all aspects of teaching and learning.

The Head of Faculty co-ordinates the teaching and learning across the faculty, while Heads of Subject are responsible for the individual departments. Elsewhere, the teaching team is well established, with a number of staff holding additional responsibilities for pastoral and cross-curricular roles.

The results of the Faculty in public examinations are extremely good. In 2015, for example, all departments achieved positive value added at Key Stage Four and there were outstanding results at Key Stage Five. There is a strong commitment to improve on this performance even further.
