Sixth Form Admissions

Admission to the Sixth Form is offered to Year 11 students unless there are strong indications that this would be an unsuitable path of progression. If you are seeking admission to the Sixth Form, you will need to complete an application form. The school will take into account the grades you are predicted at GCSE before deciding whether to make you an offer of a place to begin sixth form studies.

Students looking to join our sixth form from other schools are very welcome. Students will have the opportunity to visit us during a working day. There is a sixth form code of conduct and dress code at Bishop Stopford. All sixth formers have to agree to abide by these codes to be offered a place.

Sixth Form Open Afternoons:

To book a place for the Open Afternoons or for further information please call 01536 359422 or email Mrs Marsh.  The dates of the 2017/2018 open afternoons will be listed on the school website nearer to the time.

The deadline for applications this academic year was Tuesday 31st January 2017. Late applications will still be accepted; prospective applicants will be placed onto the sixth form reserve list.

After GCSE exams there will be a Sixth Form Induction Course held in our new Sixth Form Centre when you will be introduced to A Level subjects and the Sixth Form. There will be team building exercises and the opportunity to discuss with staff and current Sixth Form Student Heads all aspects of sixth form life.

On GCSE results day you will have the final information required to decide on your future. The Sixth Form Team will be available to discuss your results at this time.

In September 2017 you will finally confirm your course choices and get under way with your studies.
